We've come a long way but we have a long way to go with online teaching.

I've spent the last week teaching online. Teaching online to me means

that I should have immediate contact with my students. I mean

immediate contact with text and audio. I've had immediate contact with

my students using both text and audio this summer. There's no question

that audio contact is the first contact that a teacher should make

with a student. After that first contact text and graphical contact

becomes much easier. Video contact would provide even greater meaning

to a first contact. I'd love to make video contact part of my student

to teacher relationship. However, unless student use Mac OS X, there

are no video apps which will provide meaningful video contacts.
